Interim Marine Bioregionalisation for Australia

Towards a National System of Marine Protected Areas

Physical Regionalisation Maps

The regionalisation of each layer is displayed in the following maps. The difference in colour between the total properties of those groups gives an indication of the degree of difference between the total properties of those groups. For examples, in the 0-50m analysis, there are shades of blue in the cold south and the hot north-west. However, in both these regions salinity tends to be low and nitrate tends to be high and very seasonal. There is no significance to the numbering of the groups - the numbers simply provide a means of identification.
