Voyage/Survey description: Judy B voyage JB 05/1978 in Eastern Gulf of Carpentaria.
PURPOSE : Routine monthly sampling of adult prawns and other animals for distribution , abundance and genetic studies.
Additional Research: The Larval Ecology section was attempting to spawn gravid females and rear young to obtain larval stages of many species of penaeid prawns.

COMMENTS:
Cruise TP.05/78 was the eighth in our current series. Cyclone Ha1 did not interfere with the cruise , and 99% of the proposed stations (208/210) were sampled.
