Main engine: Wartsila Vasa 6R32 2460 kW driving a Leroy-Somer alternator-type LSA 54 M8 1875 kVA off the front of the engine (installed 1994)

Auxiliaries: 3 Deutz diesel engines driving Stamford generators, generating 3500 kVA

Capacities: Fuel oil 260 tonnes, fresh water 72 tonnes, fresh water evaporator and reverse osmosis up to 10 t/day

Endurance: 26 days at 11 knots

Electrical supply: 415/240 V AC 50 cycle and a partial uninterruptable power supply

Propulsion: Kort nozzle, controllable pitch propeller, maximum speed 14 knots

Bow and Stern thrusters: Each with two 403 kW Brunvoll SPX-VP units

Winches: Main fishing winches (up to 30 t each winch), net drum winch, coring winch, hydrographic, towed body and scientific winches, electro-hydraulic with low pressure hydraulic transmission supplied by A/S Hydraulik Brattvaag, Norway. The vessel is equipped to fish demersal and pelagic commercial trawls to 2000 m and to make hydrographic observations to 6000 m.

Navigational equipment: Trimble GPS Nav Trac XL and Ashtech 12 channel DGPS (both with DGPS capability); Simrad AP50 autopilot, Endeavour Chart System, two Sperry gyro compasses Mk 37.

Radar equipment: Furuno FAR28x7 Series (96nm range + ARPA) (No. 1), Furuno FR7112 (72nm range) (No. 2).

Echo sounder: Furuno TE 881 50 kHz, Furuno FC-1200 28/200 kHz colour sounder.

Communications: Fleet 77 (voice/fax/data), Satcom C (GMDSS compliant), Mini M (voice/fax/data), Optus Mobilesat (voice/fax/data), NextG (voice/data), e-mail facilities, HF/MF and VHF radios, weather fax.
