Jason
Everett
Marine ecologist (Post doc)
University of NSW
Jason Everett is a marine ecologist whose interests lie
in estuarine and plankton ecology, and the size spectra of
plankton communities. More recently Jason has focussed
on salp ecology and understanding how and why salps are
becoming increasingly dominant in the marine ecosystem.
He has previously investigated the effect of opening and
closing cycles on intermittently open lagoons through a
combination of field and modelling studies. As part of
his work at the NSW Department of Environment and Climate
Change he worked in a research group developing hydrodynamic
and ecological response models for all NSW estuaries. Jason
has recently begun a two year post-doc at the University
of New South Wales quantifying the role of salps in marine
food webs.
