The Remote Sensing Facility at CMAR has satellite data from various sources, including its own receiving stations. Some datasets are available online, with various access methods and file formats (generally HDF and netCDF). Other datasets are only available on tape; metadata and/or browse images for these datasets are available here.
The "Ten Years of SST" composite dataset:
(SST AVHRR Australasian 4 km resolution time series)
is available here as:
multi-day or separate day files.

MODIS Chlorophyll-a "composite" for the Australian region
This is an experimental product and is generated by overlaying valid data from the latest observation on a grid covering the Australian region. The region covered is 10S to 60S and 110E to 180E at 0.008 degrees. The "chlorophyll a" product calculated from the most recent MODIS pass is overlaid on this grid. Data that is more than 8 days old is discarded and a new grid is created every four days. The data includes a time field which specifies how many days old each pixel is in relation to a reference time contained in each data file. At present we are not convinced that the data is OK and are doing some comparision with SeaWifs to check the processing algorithm and masking. The intention is to provide a number of other products from MODIS.
The top-level OPeNDAP/DODS data directory contains a number of CMAR-held datasets, including satellite data.
