The satellite view of eastern Australia has been somewhat masked by cloud since the excellent image of 19 December.

The meander of warm water of the EAC appears to be moving closer to the shelf edge off Jervis Bay, while, at the same time, the EAC may have moved a little farther out to sea from Sydney.
The flow around the anticlockwise eddy out from Eden seems to be quite robust. The speeds associated with the EAC and the eddy are probably a bit over 3 knots.

There appears to be a warm anticlockwise eddy tucked into the corner formed by the shelf edge at NE Bass Strait. It's centre is 39 S and (about) 149 50'E and the speed near its edge is probably about 1 knot. Remnants of the EAC are flowing southward outside the continental shelf of Tasmania - probably no more than a knot, if that.

The flow around the "Eden eddy" appears robust and off to the SE from off the NSW/Vic border, as with the previous image. There is a hammerhead branch to the west off from the edge of this eddy. It is what we call a growing instability, but it is incidental as far as the race is concerned.
The southward flow off the Tasmanian continental shelf appears to turn to the SE and then east from Schouten Island. It is dragging some cold water on its southern side.

This adds a little bit of detail on the pattern off Tasmania.
